What is earthing and how does it work?
Earthing, or grounding, is the practice of reconnecting with the Earth’s natural electric charge. When your body makes direct contact with the Earth it helps neutralize free radicals, reduce inflammation, and restore natural biological rhythms. Our bedsheets are woven with silver threads (an anti-microbial and conductive material) that connect to a grounded plug point, allowing your body to absorb the Earth’s subtle energy while you sleep.
Am I at risk of electrocution?
Not at all. All our systems include built-in safety resistors to ensure complete protection. In the extremely rare case of a miswired wall socket, this protective resistance limits any potential current to a safe, non-harmful level — effectively preventing the risk of electric shock. However, we recommend using the socket tester provided in your kit before first use. Keep the socket tester safe and use it again in case of any future electrical changes at your home.
Can I wash the bedsheet?
Yes, absolutely. Nidrāya One is designed for regular use and is easy to wash. We provide a wash bag which increases the durability and lifespan of the bedsheet. Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh detergents, as they can reduce the conductivity of the silver threads. Use a mild detergent, cold wash, and let it air dry.
Is it safe for pregnant women?
Yes, grounding is a natural and gentle wellness practice that is considered safe for pregnant women. In fact, many find it helpful for improving sleep, reducing swelling, and supporting overall wellbeing. However, if you have any specific medical conditions or concerns, it’s always best to consult your doctor.
Does it work in high-rise buildings?
Yes, it does. Our sheets connect to the grounding port of your wall socket, which is linked to your building’s electrical grounding system. As long as your home has proper earthing, the benefits of grounding will still reach you — even several floors above the ground. Proper earthing is standard in most homes today, irrespective of the type of building/house but we provide a socket tester to help you double-check and use the product with full confidence.
What if the earthing current in my socket is miswired/faulty?
Although our systems include built-in safety protection, it’s important to note that if a socket is miswired/faulty, grounding won’t occur as intended. However, there are many benefits without ground supply as well. Nidrāya One is made using antimicrobial and heat regulating pure silver threads that will keep your bedding fresh, cool, odour-free and reduce the risk of acne. The silver threads can also naturally reduce any mild bodily discomfort as a result of static build up. Nevertheless, to get the full benefits of your Nidrāya One, we recommend using a functional earthing socket.
Any adverse health effects?
Nidrāya One is completely passive, non-electric products designed to safely connect your body to the Earth’s natural energy. It does not carry any electrical current and is made using skin-safe, OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics, conductive pure silver threads, and Azo-free dyes. There are no known adverse health effects associated with grounding when used as intended. However, as with any wellness product, if you have specific medical conditions such as electrical sensitivity, implanted electronic devices like pacemakers, or are under medical supervision, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use.
Any electricity leaks/damages?
No — Nidrāya One is a passive, non-powered product that does not use or carry electricity. The grounding cord connects only to the earthing port of a properly grounded outlet (not to live or neutral currents), and is built with a safety resistor that limits current flow to a micro-safe level.
Even in the rare event of a socket wiring issue, the in-built resistor helps protect against current flow, preventing any risk of electric shock or electrical damage.
As an added safety step, we recommend using the socket tester provided in your kit before first-time use, especially in older homes.
How can I maximise the benefits of grounding?
Maximum direct skin contact with your grounding bed sheet will help you maximise your chances of developing a healthy sleep rhythm.
Does it work with an extension chord or a travel adaptor, outside India?
Yes, it does work as long as the extension chord or the travel adaptor is 3 pinned and the top pin is functional (not made of plastic). To ensure you get maximum benefit, try the socket tester through the extension?travel plug before using.
For EU plugs: Most EU plug points are 2 pinned and therefore a 2 pinned travel adapter must be used. However, this would still work perfectly fine if the socket is accurately grounded. Test the socket using the tester before use.
